Are you passionate about providing safe and reliable transportation services to your community? We are seeking a responsible and customer-focused Transit Service Driver to join our team. In this role, you will drive and maintain transit vehicles, assist passengers, and ensure a safe and pleasant experience for all riders. This is a part-time; 2 day per week position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transport passengers safely and efficiently following scheduled routes and reservations.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, traffic laws, and vehicle maintenance requirements.
- Provide courteous and respectful customer service, assisting passengers as needed.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, maintain cleanliness, and report any maintenance needs.
- Accurately complete paperwork, including ride logs, fuel receipts, and passenger reports.
- Participate in required training sessions and adhere to company policies, including safety and non-discrimination policies.
- Communicate effectively with management regarding schedule changes, delays, or incidents.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Valid Nebraska driver’s license with an excellent driving record.
- Ability to safely operate a 15-passenger van and assist passengers as needed.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact respectfully with a diverse community.
- Basic computer skills for logging trips and completing reports.
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and perform physical duties such as bending and assisting passengers.
- Must pass a background check and participate in a random drug testing program.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience in transportation, customer service, or community services.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and vehicle maintenance procedures.
- Familiarity with community transit programs and services.
