Job Summary
Blue Tees Golf is seeking an Innovation Product Manager to identify, evaluate, and incubate new product categories and business opportunities that expand our ecosystem beyond our existing portfolio.
This role sits at the intersection of product management, innovation, strategy, and business development. You will be responsible for identifying where Blue Tees should play next, developing investment-grade business cases, validating new opportunities, and recommending strategic paths forward.
The ideal candidate has deep experience in consumer electronics hardware product management and a proven track record of bringing products from concept through commercialization. They thrive in ambiguity, operate independently, and possess the curiosity and entrepreneurial mindset required to explore new markets, technologies, and customer needs.
This is a highly collaborative role that works closely with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Finance, Operations, and Executive Leadership to shape the future direction of the business.
Key Responsibilities
Innovation & Opportunity Discovery
- Identify and evaluate emerging technologies, consumer trends, and whitespace opportunities within and adjacent to the golf industry
- Explore new product categories across hardware, software, connected devices, services, data, and subscription-based offerings
- Map strategic adjacencies to Blue Tees' existing ecosystem and product portfolio
- Develop and maintain a prioritized pipeline of innovation opportunities
- Generate, evaluate, and refine new product concepts that align with long-term company objectives
Market & Competitive Analysis
- Conduct market sizing and opportunity assessments, including TAM, SAM, and SOM analysis
- Research customer segments, unmet needs, and emerging behaviors
- Analyze competitive landscapes, product positioning, pricing strategies, and go-to-market approaches
- Evaluate market attractiveness, barriers to entry, and potential competitive advantages
- Identify opportunities where Blue Tees can create differentiated value
Strategic Business Cases & Investment Analysis
- Build comprehensive business cases for new product opportunities
- Evaluate revenue potential, cost structures, investment requirements, and profitability
- Assess product feasibility, risks, timelines, and resource requirements
- Develop build-versus-buy-versus-partner recommendations
- Support evaluation of strategic partnerships, licensing opportunities, acquisitions, and ecosystem expansion initiatives
Product Concept Development & Validation
- Translate opportunities into product concepts, product requirements, prototypes, and validation plans
- Conduct customer discovery interviews and market validation activities
- Lead early-stage concept testing, pilot programs, and proof-of-concept initiatives
- Partner with Engineering and Design teams to assess technical feasibility
- Refine concepts based on customer feedback, business viability, and technical considerations
Product & Ecosystem Strategy
- Contribute to the long-term product and ecosystem vision for Blue Tees
- Identify opportunities to strengthen integration across hardware, software, and digital experiences
- Recommend strategic roadmap priorities for future category expansion
- Evaluate opportunities for recurring revenue, data platforms, subscription offerings, and ecosystem growth
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Collaborate closely with Product, Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Marketing, Finance, Operations, and Executive Leadership
- Build alignment around innovation priorities and investment decisions
- Present recommendations, business cases, and strategic findings to leadership teams
- Represent Blue Tees in discussions with technology partners, manufacturers, suppliers, consultants, and strategic collaborators
- Drive initiatives forward with a high degree of ownership and accountability
Skills & Requirements
Required
- 5 years of product management experience within consumer electronics hardware environments
- Proven experience bringing hardware products from concept through commercialization
- Experience evaluating and developing new product opportunities from 0→1
- Strong analytical skills including market sizing, competitive analysis, financial modeling, and business case development
- Ability to operate independently and drive projects forward with limited oversight
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and making recommendations with incomplete information
- Experience collaborating cross-functionally with engineering, operations, marketing, and executive leadership teams
Preferred
- Experience with connected devices, IoT products, or integrated hardware/software ecosystems
- Experience working with ODM/OEM manufacturing partners
- Business development, partnership, or licensing experience
- Familiarity with the golf industry or a passion for golf
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Product Management, or a related field
- MBA or Master's degree preferred
- 5–10 years of experience in Product Management, Product Strategy, Innovation, or New Product Development
- Consumer electronics hardware experience strongly preferred
- Experience developing products in both hardware and software environments preferred
