Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team. As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will work under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist to provide therapeutic services to patients. Your role will involve assisting in the development and implementation of treatment plans to help patients regain their independence and improve their quality of life.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in evaluating patients' functional abilities and limitations
- Collaborate with Occupational Therapist to develop individualized treatment plans
- Implement therapeutic interventions and techniques as directed by the Occupational Therapist
- Monitor and document patient progress during therapy sessions
- Educate patients and their families on therapeutic exercises and activities
- Assist with the maintenance of therapy equipment and supplies
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
Requirements:
- Associate's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Valid certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Experience working with quadriplegics
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Familiarity with medical imaging techniques and acute care settings
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Knowledge of occupational health practices and protocols
