Job Summary
The Public Area / Lobby Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, and overall presentation of all public spaces throughout the hotel. This position helps create a welcoming and comfortable environment for guests by ensuring the lobby, restrooms, hallways, elevators, meeting space, and other public areas are clean, organized, and well maintained at all times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clean and maintain the hotel lobby, public restrooms, hallways, elevators, stairwells, and other assigned public areas
  • Dust, sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors, furniture, fixtures, and glass surfaces
  • Monitor and replenish restroom supplies such as soap, paper towels, and tissue
  • Empty trash receptacles and replace liners in all assigned public areas
  • Clean entrance doors, windows, mirrors, and high-touch surfaces regularly
  • Maintain cleanliness of meeting rooms, pre-function areas, fitness center, and other guest-facing spaces as assigned
  • Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or damaged items to the appropriate department promptly
  • Respond quickly to spills, guest requests, and special cleaning needs
  • Ensure cleaning carts, storage areas, and supplies are organized and properly stocked
  • Follow hotel brand standards, safety procedures, and proper use of cleaning chemicals
  • Provide friendly and professional service when interacting with guests and team members
  • Support housekeeping and other departments as needed

Qualifications

  • Previous housekeeping or janitorial experience preferred, but not required
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently with attention to detail
  • Good time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and move for extended periods
  • Able to lift up to 25–40 pounds as needed
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
  • Basic understanding of cleanliness and guest service standards

Work Environment

  • Fast-paced hotel environment
  • Requires frequent walking, standing, bending, pushing, pulling, and lifting
  • May involve exposure to cleaning chemicals and varying temperatures

Performance Expectations

  • Maintain a clean, neat, and guest-ready appearance in all public areas
  • Complete daily cleaning assignments on time and according to hotel standards
  • Deliver courteous and professional guest service at all times
  • Help ensure a positive first impression for every guest entering the hotel
