LEAD THE NEXT CHAPTER OF A NEWLY RENOVATED MARRIOTT HOTEL

Blue Sky Hospitality Solutions is seeking an experienced, hands-on Hotel General Manager to lead the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Columbia following an extensive renovation.

This is an exciting opportunity for a proven hotel General Manager—or an accomplished Assistant General Manager or operations leader ready for the next step—to build a strong team, strengthen the hotel’s position in the Columbia market and create an exceptional experience for guests and associates.

The General Manager will have full responsibility for the hotel’s operational, financial and cultural performance. We are looking for a visible leader who understands Marriott standards, knows how to drive results and enjoys developing a team.

WHAT YOU’LL LEAD

Hotel Operations

• Direct all aspects of daily hotel operations, including Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering, complimentary breakfast and Guest Services.
• Ensure consistent execution of Marriott brand standards and Blue Sky operating expectations.
• Maintain a visible presence throughout the hotel and respond quickly to operational and guest-service needs.
• Establish effective daily routines, property inspections and departmental accountability.
• Protect the newly renovated asset through strong preventive-maintenance and cleanliness programs.

Team Leadership and Culture

• Recruit, onboard, train, coach and retain a high-performing hotel team.
• Build a positive, accountable and guest-focused workplace culture.
• Set clear performance expectations and provide consistent feedback, recognition and development.
• Ensure appropriate staffing and scheduling based on business demand.
• Create an environment where associates feel supported, informed and empowered to serve guests.

Guest Experience and Marriott Performance

• Champion Fairfield’s commitment to warm, reliable and effortless hospitality.
• Monitor guest feedback, Marriott performance metrics and service trends.
• Lead effective service recovery and resolve guest concerns with urgency and professionalism.
• Develop action plans that improve guest satisfaction, brand compliance and overall hotel performance.
• Prepare for and successfully manage Marriott quality-assurance reviews.

Financial and Commercial Performance

• Own the hotel’s budget, forecast, P&L, labor productivity and profitability.
• Manage expenses while protecting service quality and the guest experience.
• Partner with Sales and Revenue Management to increase occupancy, ADR, RevPAR and market share.
• Build relationships within the Columbia business community and identify local opportunities to generate demand.
• Translate operating decisions into measurable financial results.

Safety, Compliance and Asset Protection

• Maintain compliance with applicable employment, safety, life-safety and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure required Marriott training, certifications and hotel documentation remain current.
• Promote a proactive safety culture for associates and guests.
• Partner with ownership and corporate leadership regarding capital needs, risk management and property performance.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Progressive hotel leadership experience, preferably within a Marriott-branded or comparable select-service hotel.
• Previous Hotel General Manager experience preferred; high-performing Assistant General Managers and senior hotel operations leaders will also be considered.
• Marriott systems and brand experience strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to lead hotel operations, build teams and improve performance.
• Strong understanding of budgets, forecasts, P&Ls, labor management and profitability.
• Experience improving guest-satisfaction scores and brand-quality results.
• Strong communication, organization and problem-solving skills.
• Visible, hands-on leadership style with the ability to hold teams accountable.
• Ability to work on-site in Columbia, Missouri, with schedule flexibility based on hotel needs.
• Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business or a related field preferred but not required.
