What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intake Coordinator position at Blue Sky Counseling?
Are you an enthusiastic yet task-oriented professional with an understanding of substance use and mental health struggles? Are you looking for a career supporting people with accessing services? Blue Sky Counseling is seeking a skilled intake coordinator to support our team by getting people linked to the right services. This position will work through the referral and intake process from the start of cultivating referents through building connections and getting into the community, to providing information on services and completing intake processes. The intake coordinator will assess the person in need of services and link them to the right program for their success while maintaining an empathic approach and open mind. This position will need to have a strong understanding of available programming and eligibility, be able to discuss all options, problem solve barriers, set up appointments, and build relationships.
This position serves as the initial point of contact for clients, families, community providers, and referral agencies when reaching the agency. This position requires a high degree of professionalism, effective oral and written communication, as well as an empathetic perspective when engaging and encouraging people in need of treatment.
Additional skills that would lend well to this position include being detail-oriented, organized, tracking information, being able to prioritize responsibilities with the clients coming first, and remaining focused and positive in stressful situations. The ability to train other staff for coverage and work with partnering agencies in the community is essential. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required, as well as being a team player and collaborating across departments within the agency.
This position is critical to support someone who may be really struggling through the intake process and on their path to getting the treatment they need. Blue Sky provides a variety of services for substance use including the Opioid Health Home model of care and Driver Education Evaluation Program.
Preference for this position will be given to candidates who have experience working with people who identify with having substance use or mental health struggles, candidates who have at least a two-year degree, four years preferred, and people with professional experience in networking.
