Responsibilities
- Supervise children during playtime, meals, naps, and structured activities to ensure their safety and well-being
- Implement age-appropriate educational activities that promote cognitive, social, and emotional development
- Maintain a clean, organized, and child-friendly environment that encourages exploration and learning
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about their child's progress, needs, and any concerns
- Follow all mandated reporting laws to report any signs of abuse or neglect promptly and appropriately
- Administer basic first aid or CPR when necessary to address minor injuries or health issues
- Support children with special needs by adapting activities and providing individualized care as needed
Skills
- Proven experience working with children in daycare, preschool, babysitting, nannying or similar settings
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education practices
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to engage children positively and effectively
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques suitable for young children
- Excellent communication skills for parent updates and team collaboration
- Ability to perform first aid and pediatric CPR confidently in emergency situations
- Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs is a plus
- Understanding of mandated reporting laws related to child safety and protection
- Ability to create a nurturing environment that fosters growth, curiosity, and independence
