Our client is expanding its mission-critical engineering capabilities and is seeking an experienced Data Center Telecom Engineer to play a foundational role in that growth. This is a high-impact opportunity for an RCDD-certified professional who wants more than a traditional design position. You will take ownership of sophisticated data center telecommunications projects, serve as a senior technical resource, influence design standards, and help build out a growing low-voltage capability.

This Role Offers

  • Competitive base salary, plus discretionary bonus.
  • Chance to serve as a trusted subject-matter resource guiding communications infrastructure and integrated building systems.
  • Significant autonomy across design execution, project delivery, and client interaction.
  • Opportunity to mentor technical professionals and help develop a growing low-voltage team.
  • Long-term opportunity to influence technical standards, team capabilities, and the direction of a growing practice.

Focus

  • Lead telecommunications and structured cabling design for complex data center and mission-critical environments.
  • Develop coordinated construction packages covering cabling, pathways, telecommunications spaces, specifications, schedules, and related infrastructure.
  • Integrate low-voltage designs with architectural, electrical, mechanical, structural, security, and audiovisual disciplines.
  • Conduct site assessments, evaluate existing conditions, and translate findings into practical design solutions.
  • Support projects throughout construction through submittal reviews, RFIs, field observations, and design updates.
  • Serve as a technical resource for clients, contractors, vendors, and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Independently manage design scope, schedules, deliverables, and technical quality across assigned projects.
  • Help establish design standards, mentor technical professionals, and support the continued growth of the low-voltage team.

Skill Set

  • 8 or more years of professional telecommunications or low-voltage building systems design experience, including data center or other mission-critical facilities.
  • Current BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Strong experience designing structured cabling systems, telecommunications pathways and spaces, and associated infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated success leading telecommunications or low-voltage design projects.
  • Experience producing construction documents using Revit, AutoCAD, or comparable design software.
  • Strong ability to coordinate technical solutions across multiple building disciplines and communicate with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.
  • Additional credentials such as CTS-D, PSP, SmartScore AP, or WiredScore AP are beneficial but not required.
