Junior Business Process Analyst (Operations-Focused)

Location: Washington, D.C.
Clearance: Public Trust
Salary Target: Up to ~$95,000

Position Summary

The Business Process Analyst will support day-to-day operational activities for a federal program. This is a junior, operations-focused role designed for candidates with approximately 1–2 years of professional experience. The primary responsibilities include performing routine system health checks, entering and managing operational tickets, and supporting basic process documentation activities. Some exposure to SQL is helpful, but the position is not a heavy technical or business architecture role.

This position is ideal for someone early in their career who is detail-oriented, eager to learn, and comfortable working in a structured operations environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily system health checks to ensure operational readiness

• Enter, update, and track tickets in the team’s workflow system for another vendor to action

• Support operations tasks associated with day-to-day system monitoring and maintenance

• Assist in documenting basic business processes, workflows, and standard operating procedures

• Participate in requirements intake sessions to capture business needs at a high level

• Support user and task analysis to gather operational information

• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely resolution of issues and maintain operational stability

Required Experience & Skills

• 1–2 years of professional experience in operations, support, business analysis, or similar functional roles

• Strong attention to detail and comfort performing repeatable daily tasks

• Ability to clearly document processes and follow structured procedures

• Basic familiarity with SQL (e.g., running simple queries)

• Strong communication and organization skills

• U.S. Citizenship

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance

Preferred (Nice-to-Have)

• Experience with ticketing systems (ServiceNow, JIRA, Remedy, etc.)

• Exposure to system monitoring, O&M processes, or daily health-check workflows

• Interest in expanding functional and technical analysis skills over time
