Job Skills / Requirements
Preschool-Child Care Instructor
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
*8am-6pm on days when school is not in session*
The Preschool/Child Care Instructor is responsible for creating and maintaining a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment that promotes each child’s social, emotional, and physical development. Duties include greeting and communicating with parents, preparing and implementing lesson plans based on The Creative Curriculum, organizing classroom materials, supervising children during indoor and outdoor activities, maintaining cleanliness and safety standards, supporting children with special needs, documenting progress, and participating in staff meetings and trainings while ensuring compliance with agency and licensing regulations.
Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Must be enrolled in classes toward a CDA or higher degree in Early Childhood or Elementary Education. Experience working with children preferred.
Requirements:
- Must obtain or hold current CPR, First Aid, and CDA certification (within 1 year).
- Complete 12 hours of annual training.
- Pass a pre-employment drug screen.
- Must be able to lift 40 lbs. and actively engage with children on their level.
