Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to residents in long-term care settings, including medication administration, wound management, and vital sign monitoring.
- Conduct detailed patient assessments to develop individualized care plans aligned with medical orders and resident needs.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate treatments such as IV infusions, catheterization, ostomy care, and pain management strategies.
- Perform specialized procedures including suturing, tube feeding management, and sterile technique adherence during clinical interventions.
- Educate residents and their families on health conditions, medication regimens, and self-care techniques to promote independence and understanding.
Qualifications
- Valid RN licensure with current registration in the state of employment.
- Proven experience working in long-term care facilities or nursing homes; additional assisted living or memory care experience is highly desirable.
- Skilled in critical care procedures including, acute pain management, infectious disease control, and wound care.
- Experience working with diverse populations including seniors, individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia, and patients requiring hospice or palliative care.
- Ability to perform physical examinations, laboratory specimen collection/processing, phlebotomy, and IV insertions confidently.
- Excellent communication skills for patient education, team collaboration, and family engagement.
