Position Title: Employee Benefits Manager (Employee Benefits Account Manager)

Job Description:
The Employee Benefits Manager will be called an Employee Benefits Account Manager, driving strong client relationships and delivers exceptional service. In this role, you’ll respond to client needs, manage data and policy transactions, and uncover new opportunities within existing accounts. You’ll ensure every interaction meets the agency’s high standards for quality, accuracy, and service.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Take care of your assigned group of clients, making sure their benefit plans are sold, serviced, and support the right way.
- Help our sales team by reviewing what clients need and suggesting the best benefit options for them.
- Talk with clients by phone, email, or in person to answer questions about their benefits, bills, or coverage.
- Work with our Client Relationship Manager to negotiate with insurance companies so clients get the best coverage and pricing.
- Join sales or client meetings when needed to support Producers (sales professionals).
- Manage the yearly renewal process by gathering quotes, prepare proposals, and make sure policies are delivered on time.
- Complete renewal paperwork and prepare any materials needed when a client's account is being reviewed or marketed.
- Create Open Enrollment materials.
- Manage cancellation requests according to our guidelines and notify the Account Executive.
- Assist clients with claims and appeals; identify any gaps in coverage and recommend options.
- Stay organized and prioritize your work so everything is accurate and on schedule.
- Keep up with changes in employee benefits, insurance products, industry rules, and technology.
- Communicate clearly with coworkers and work as part of the team to support company goals.
- Look for ways to make our client experience even better and share ideas for improvements.
- Complete any required reports for the department.
- Take on additional duties as needed.
Handle all account updates on time, including:
- Issuing new policies or making changes
- Creating certificates and ID cards
- Preparing proposals and plan summaries
- Processing enrollments, terminations, and changes
- Handling audits or corrections
- Communicating with clients and carriers
- Reviewing coverage and suggesting solutions
What You'll Need:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for explaining complex insurance concepts.
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership abilities, including goal-setting and project management.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work across teams.
- Solid understanding of insurance products, markets, and underwriting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related tools.
Education & Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years in commercial, employee benefits, or personal lines insurance is preferred
- Active Life & Health Agent License required.
- Experience managing large, complex accounts—including international, contractor, and manufacturing clients.
- In-depth knowledge of ACA and related compliance regulations.
