BRHHC is looking for a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant to care for our patients and facilitate their speedy recovery. You will be responsible for educating them and their families on prevention and healthy habits. The ideal candidate will be a responsible and well-trained professional able to give the best patient care with little supervision. You will be compassionate and cool-tempered. You will be able to follow health and safety guidelines faithfully and consistently. The goal is to promote patient’s well-being by providing high-quality in-home care.
Responsibilities:
- Assists occupational therapy clients by providing rehabilitative services to patients experiencing functional limitations.
- Provides services under the direction of licensed occupational therapist.
- Verifies client information through interview and review of medical history to initial medically necessary treatment.
- Empower clients to improve their quality of life by educating in compensation for limitations, demonstrating how injuries can be improved, motor skills restored to participate in the occupation of life; including meal preparation, public transportation use, and increasing functional independence.
- Follows treatment plan developed in collaboration with occupational therapist by teaching techniques, such as, proper methods of transfers, functional range of motion and safe body mechanics.
- Monitors activities to follow through and collaborating with supervising therapist for change in care plan as needed.
- Maintains patient occupational therapy records by recording progress for use by the occupational therapist.
- Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards of ethics and procedures by complying with legal regulations.
- Orders patient supplies and medically necessary equipment as needed.
- Serves and protects the occupational therapy practice by adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, and Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) standards.
- Enhances occupational therapy practice reputation by accepting ownership of practice, and assisting to improve patient quality of life.

Pay: $29.43 - $35.44 per hour
