What are the responsibilities and job description for the Adjunct - History Lecturer position at Blue Ridge Community and Technical College?
The School of Professional Studies and University Transfer is currently seeking qualified individuals to instruct History for upcoming semesters. This position requires the adjunct to:

- Instruct History survey courses (including World History to 1500, World History since 1500, and/or US History since 1877).
- Develop and manage course syllabus and materials
- Develop and manage an online course site in the college's LMS, Blackboard Learn
- Maintain records of attendance and student performance
- Submit attendance and grades as required by the college
- Master’s degree from an accredited institution in History or
- Master’s degree in a closely related field with 18 credits of history at the graduate level
Experience
- 1-2 years of teaching experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Design and deliver effective instruction
- Assess student learning and incorporate findings into course delivery
- Utilize a learning management system to supplement face-to-face instruction
- Support and encourage students in a civil and welcoming classroom climate
