Blue Ridge Behavioral Healthcare is seeking a passionate and dedicated school based Prevention and Wellness Specialist to promote mental health, prevent substance misuse, and strengthen resilience through education, outreach, collaboration, and evidence-based prevention initiatives across the communities we serve.

- Prevention & Wellness Specialist I: $19.56/hour-$24.45/hour
- Prevention & Wellness Specialist 2: $21.51/hour-$26.89/hour
- Plan, implement, document and evaluate substance abuse, and/or mental health promotion services for children, youth, parents and community members in partner agency and community settings to decrease substance abuse and other risky behaviors and strengthen protective factors.
- Provide training and education through engaging presentations, public speaking, small group facilitation and meetings to targeted populations, to promote the effectiveness of prevention concepts, best practices and strategies to reduce substance abuse and adverse childhood experiences and to promote community resilience. Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with multiple community and organizational partners to enhance the provision of prevention services.
- Utilize a variety of best practice, evidence-based programs and other strategies, in collaboration with multiple community partners and coalition members, to develop and implement prevention strategies to reduce substance abuse and promote mental health wellness community-wide.
- New staff will join the BRBH team in providing trauma informed care and will help build safe relationships that promote wellness, resilience and recovery.
- Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
- Experience: Minimum of two (2) years' experience required.
- Safe Driving Record: This position requires transporting clients or driving agency vehicles. Candidates must have an active, unrestricted driver's license and a good driving record, which is defined as no more than two moving violations in the last three years and no criminal moving violations in the last five years.
