Fall internship applications close each year at the end of June. Spring internship applications close each year at the end of October.

Position Summary/Responsibilities

Internship Areas Include:

  • Assertive Community Treatment: Community Based Support for adults with serious mental illness
  • Child, Youth, & Family Services: Services for children and teens, with family involvement
  • Crisis Receiving Center: Short term crisis support, assessments, and care planning
  • Outpatient Counseling Services: Group based mental health and substance use counseling
  • Project LINK: Support for pregnant women, mothers, and infants affected by substance use
  • Adult Developmental Disability Care Coordination: Resource coordination for adults with developmental disabilities
  • Prevention & Wellness: Community education and awareness about mental health and substance use
  • Psychiatric Services: Services in an outpatient setting to adults with serious mental illness, substance use disorders, developmental disability, or possibly co-occurring diagnoses
  • Forensic Services: Provides behavioral health assessment, treatment, and case management for individuals involved in the criminal justice system, supporting recovery and successful community reintegration
  • Permanent Supportive Housing: Services for adults to help assist in locating, acquiring, and sustaining stable housing
  • Geriatric Transition Center: Provides direct services to individuals with mental, behavioral, and substance use disorders within a Transition Center unit that provides residential stabilization as well as medically managed services
  • Projects for Assistance in Transition from Homelessness: Services adults with serious mental illness who are experiencing homelessness or who are at risk of becoming homeless

Hiring Range

Internships are unpaid; however, students are expected to earn academic credit through their educational institution. The internship is designed to provide meaningful hands-on experience that complements classroom learning and supports professional growth.

Requirements

  • Education: Current enrollment in an accredited college or university. Affiliation agreement with academic institution is required.
  • Background Check: Fingerprints, State and FBI criminal record reports, drug test, and central registry report will be required upon selection.

Special Work Conditions

This role involves work primarily in indoor office and clinical environments, with occasional activities in community settings. Reasonable accommodations may be provided to enable individuals to perform the essential functions.
