Job Summary

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians with medical procedures, including animal restraint, catheterization, and aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment.
  • Perform laboratory tests, collect samples for diagnostics, and manage medical records using veterinary software.
  • Provide high-quality animal husbandry and animal care, ensuring proper feeding, grooming, and monitoring of patient health.
  • Handle companion animals with confidence, including dog handling and general animal restraint to ensure safety during examinations and treatments.
  • Support surgical procedures by preparing patient areas, sterilizing instruments, and assisting during surgeries.
  • Manage kennel operations by cleaning, feeding, and monitoring hospitalized animals while maintaining detailed records.
  • Communicate effectively with clients regarding pet care instructions, treatment plans, and follow-up needs while adhering to veterinary terminology standards.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a veterinary technician or in a veterinary clinic setting is required.
  • Strong knowledge of animal anatomy, veterinary critical care practices, and laboratory procedures.
  • Familiarity with veterinary software systems.
  • Excellent animal handling skills across various species with an emphasis on dog handling and animal restraint techniques.
  • Knowledge of veterinary regulations including Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) regulations and USDA guidelines.
  • Ability to perform medical collection procedures such as blood draws or urine sampling accurately.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly with pet owners and team members alike.

We are open 9-5 and no nights. We are looking for a technician to mainly assist in surgery. We perform routine surgeries 1 day a week—hours can be adjusted for mothers with children. Flexible scheduling for c-sections when needed.

Pay: $30.00 per hour
