What are the responsibilities and job description for the CMM Dimensional Inspector position at Blue Origin?

In this role you will be responsible to program, setup and operate CMM; laser tracker; Romer arm; manual layout using design data to inspect machined and received components. Perform first article, in-process, final and receiving inspections. Provide feedback to machinists and engineers with dimensional data. Document, track and complete discrepancy reports. In addition, there will be times that you will need to provide inspection time estimates. Maintain and track all inspection equipment calibrations. Support process improvement initiatives. Maintain configuration control on files and job records, and safely work within an industrial environment.

Qualifications:
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in dimensional inspection of aerospace components.
- CMM programming and operation.
- Superior blueprint reading skills including GD&T per ASME Y14.5-2009 standard.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Fluent in the use of precision hand tools, gages, optical comparator, and surface plate work.
- Experience inspecting tight tolerance, high value components.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Desired:
- CAD system knowledge, preferably Creo, PC-DMIS
- PC DMIS NC on machine inspection.
- Leica and Spatial Analyzer knowledge.
- Basic machining knowledge.
- Familiar with Mastercam preferably X6 or higher.
- Experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts around flight critical hardware.
- Outside processing knowledge (heat treat, plating, coating, EDM, grinding, etc.)
