As part of a diverse team of professionals, the Astro Operations Specialist supports the astronaut related activities from pre-arrivals, to launches, and to post-departures: schedules, event management logistics, purchases, and inventories. This role supports the program management and leadership as well as the Blue Origin’s programs and events for existing and for new product launches. In addition, the Astro Operations Specialist supports the sales, media, operations, and other internal business teams in ensuring successful operations and the highest levels of safety and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities: In partnership with the leadership team, plan and lead pre-launch and post-launch events for national and international events Brief the leadership on event schedules, progress and logistics needs Support the astronaut experience program and liaise with sales, media, internal business partners and operations as well as with external customers and vendors Develop and lead projects independently or in teams, from start to completion, with competing deadlines Coordinate the schedules of events, customer databases and media plans Monitor physical locations for national and international events, communication, operations, and ensure clear planning, availability of inventories and deliverables Maintain accurate and detailed internal records and distribute information are as appropriate Provide outstanding customer support, communicate event schedules, provide tours, ensure that services meet expectations Engage with internal and external customers to address questions and to escalate concerns as needed Support the rules of engagement as well as the internal and external communication for the team Support the process improvement and new program development initiatives in partnership with the astronaut experience leadership team Support our culture of diversity and inclusiveness where everyone can thrive May assist in writing proposals, contracts, and budgets as well as assist junior peers in completing tasks Promote collaboration and perform other duties as assigned Required Skills, Education, Experience: A self-starter lead with ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional business relationships and a provide a superior level of customer support Comfortable with public speaking, orienting customers and with public presentations Professional proficiency Microsoft Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, internal software packages) and Smart-Sheets, Outlook, Teams, Zoom Maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality at all times 4 years of hospitality experience to include hotel, club, and/or restaurant or related Work environment and conditions of employment: Flexible remote and on-site work with ~50% domestic and international business travel Extended work schedule with early starts and late work hours, weekends and holidays Ideal for self-starters and event planners comfortable working in fast-paced and dynamic work environments as well as with high-profile customers Ability to lift up to 50lbs Driver license required Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder) or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum Export Control Regulations Applicants for employment at Blue Origin must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e. current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
