We are in search of a positive, high energy, motivated individual to fulfill a Physical Security Specialist role and become an integral part of a small, passionate, and accomplished team. The successful candidate will join our team of security professionals. The Security team is responsible for all aspects of security operations – physical security, threat management and investigations, in addition to performing other duties in support of Orbital Launch Site operations. The successful candidate will possess the ability to work independently, be highly technically ambitious, resolve unforeseen situations efficiently and with common sense, and have excellent communication and organizational skills. The Physical Security Specialist will coordinate and complete security administrative tasks, including but not limited to: Conduct digital forensic reviews and access requests for internal investigations Direct on-site and off-site location security risk assessments and oversee physical security equipment placement and installation Serve as the convoy security coordinator for all oversized strategic items moving to/from L36 and other locations within the OLS footprint (Manufacturing Complex, Port Canaveral, etc). Coordinate and facilitate security requirements for long-haul transports/movements of strategic items moving to OLS facilities, to include engines and other vital hardware and components. Serve as the primary coordinator for DBIDS Badges for access to Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. Prepare forms, review for accuracy, and transmit to CCSFS Pass & ID Office. In addition, manage oversight of current DBIDS badges to include reminders to expiring badge holders, recovery of badges from departing personnel, and interaction with Blue hosts requesting contractor access. Oversee all OLS parking and traffic enforcement operations Serve as the primary security liaison with the OLS Administrative Team. These duties will include assisting with overseeing badge issuance and recovery, VIP visitor assistance, and assistance with access control. Work directly with the Facilities Operations Team to provide support to parking management on the OLS Campus. In addition, support the key & lock program at OLS and act as the liaison between security and facilities for key, lock, and gate management issues and requirements. Assist with documentation of Security incidents. This includes any Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS), Facilities, or HR incidents with a security nexus. Aid with the management of the contracted Guard Force. This will include requests for administrative support for newly hired guards (badges, logon credentials, equipment, etc) as well as other on- and off-boarding activities. Cover shifts, if necessary, when all other avenues have been exhausted. As directed, support security launch operations at Launch Complex 36 and our Texas site Create, draft, edit, and prepare reports, project meeting notes, presentations, spreadsheets, and documents. Contribute to New Glenn program success by providing general operations support and accomplishing related duties on an as needed basis. Associate degree or equivalent (military/law enforcement/security) experience Functional experience in Physical Security – guard force operations, security technology (access control/CCTV/alarms) with a broad technical aptitude Functional experience in Threat Management – critical incident management, command post operations and technology, and threat assessments Functional experience in Investigations – criminal (fraud, theft, etc.) and administrative (employee misconduct). Ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization Possess a valid driver’s license Possess or can obtain a DBIDS Strong written and verbal communications skills Liaison with Federal, State, and Local first responders Ability to flourish in an environment with multiple and shifting priorities Demonstrated strong time management and multi-tasking skills Demonstrated strong attention to detail, resolution, and follow through skills Proven skills managing subcontractors and vendors successfully Strong competency in all Microsoft office applications Ability to flex schedule and occasionally work evenings or weekends as needed Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum Desired: 5 years of Government, Military, Law Enforcement and/or Corporate Security experience Ability to obtain a U.S. government Top Secret security clearance Bachelor’s degree in security, business, administration, or related field.
