Position Summary
Blue Ops is building next-generation unmanned surface vessel (USV) capabilities for defense and commercial applications. Our marine operations team is responsible for ensuring fleet readiness, reliability, and performance in demanding, mission-critical environments.
We are seeking a Electrical-certified Marine Systems Manager to lead maintenance, diagnostics, and reliability across our marine fleet and headquarters operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Preventative Maintenance & Fleet Readiness
- Oversee, schedule, and perform preventative maintenance and seasonal service
- Execute annual and 100-hour services, including performance tuning
- Conduct safety inspections and pre-deployment checks
- Maintain overall health of fleet assets and HQ marine facilities
- Partner with Technical teams to ensure electrical systems readyness
Electrical Diagnostics, Repair & System Optimization
- Lead advanced diagnostics and troubleshooting for all electrical systems
- Service fuel, cooling, and electrical systems
- Proactively identify issues before failures occur
Systems Integration & Technical Execution
- Support marine electrical systems and vessel integration
- Perform rigging and harness operations
- Fabricate or modify custom components
- Interpret technical drawings and schematics
Required Qualifications
- Past or present Certification (Required)
- Minimum 15 years as a billable electrical technician
- Strong expertise in diesel engines, electrical diagnostics, marine charging and battery systems
- Experience with rigging, fabrication, and custom installs
- Ability to work in demanding environments
Additional Desired Qualifications
- Defense, commercial, or high-performance marine operations
- USVs or autonomous vessel systems
- Mercury outdrive and jet drive experience
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Must be able to walk, stand, and navigate large indoor and outdoor facilities for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move materials and equipment weighing up to 25 lbs on a regular basis.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required in designated areas or when performing specific tasks, in accordance with safety protocols and company policy.
- May be required to climb ladders, stoop, kneel, or crouch during inspections, maintenance walk-throughs, or emergency response situations.
- Regular exposure to facility operations including noise, dust, temperature fluctuations, and industrial equipment.
- Occasional off-hours or weekend work required for emergency facility responses or projects as needed
- Requires frequent use of a computer and other standard office equipment for documentation, communication, and coordination tasks.
