Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to inspire and support students with diverse learning needs. Duties
- Design and deliver engaging lesson plans tailored to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities, including speech therapy, literacy education, math, and behavioral health strategies
- Develop, review, and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to set achievable goals for each student
- Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive reinforcement techniques and behavioral therapy methods
- Conduct assessments using standardized testing tools to monitor progress and adjust instructional approaches accordingly
- Provide support for early intervention programs and work with children in preschool or early childhood settings to foster developmental milestones
- Incorporate curriculum development principles such as Montessori or other specialized frameworks to enhance learning experiences
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress, behavior management strategies, and ways to support learning at home
- Utilize a variety of instructional tools including tutoring, mentoring, library services, and technology to enrich classroom activities
- Maintain detailed records of student performance, attendance, and IEP compliance while ensuring adherence to educational standards
Experience
- Prior classroom experience working with students with disabilities in special education settings or private schools is highly preferred
- Demonstrated expertise in working with individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, or hearing impairments such as deaf education
- Experience developing lesson plans that incorporate literacy education, math skills, and communication techniques
- Knowledge of behavioral health practices and behavioral management strategies applicable in early childhood or preschool environments
- Familiarity with standardized testing procedures and assessment tools used in special education contexts
- Strong communication skills for collaborating effectively with students, parents, therapists, and colleagues
- Background in early childhood education or preschool experience is advantageous for supporting young learners’ growth
