The Mountain Operations Manager oversees the year-round operational functions of the Mountain Operations and Grounds Department under the direction of the Director of Mountain Operations. This position is responsible for developing and managing daily work plans, supervising and supporting scheduled operations, and maintaining a safe, efficient work environment. The Manager conducts routine job site and team inspections across the resort and serves as a hands-on leader, actively working alongside team members to ensure high standards of performance and safety.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven success leading a team to achieve goals
  • Knowledge of ski area operations including snowmaking/mountain operations is preferred
  • General construction experience with electrical and mechanical skills and extensive knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively; both written and verbal
  • Ability to quickly adapt to change in operations or plans

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:

  • Report directly to Director of Mountain Operations/Asst. Director of Mountain Operations
  • Lead, develop and retain top talent.
  • Assist in the planning of snowmaking production to ensure a successful winter skiing experience.
  • Implement workflow procedures based on directions from the Mountain Operations Director/ Asst. Director
  • Coordinate projects including summer repair, maintenance, installations to snowmaking, mountain infrastructure, and resort infrastructure
  • Assist in yearly planning expectations
  • Oversee the timely and professional management of snow removal along the roadways and parking lots
  • Monitor and control the computerized process control systems for snowmaking operations
  • Liaise between Director, guests, and employees
  • Provide additional support as needed to the Operations Director/Asst. Director in the day-to-day running of the organization.
  • Support Blue Mountain Resort’s culture of safety and operational excellence
