Blue Mountain Deer Processing – Seasonal Job Opportunity
Location: Enola, PA (just minutes from Mechanicsburg)
Blue Mountain Deer Processing is a seasonal deer processing business serving hunters across central Pennsylvania. Each Fall and Winter, we process over 1,600 deer and produce a wide range of fresh and smoked venison products. Our commitment to quality and customer satisfaction has made us the largest and fastest-growing deer processor in the area.
We are now hiring enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our team for the 2025 deer season, running from early October through mid-December. For many of our employees, this opportunity repeats year after year.
Working Hours
We operate 7 days a week throughout the deer season as animals come in daily.
Two shifts are available:
- Day Shift: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Evening Shift: 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM
You must be available at least 4 days per week, with weekend availability required.
More availability is strongly preferred and may result in additional hours and higher pay opportunities.

- Rinse and clean deer after skinning
- Carry and hang deer in walk-in coolers
- Clean and maintain your work area at the end of each shift

Secondary Duties
When there are no deer to skin, you may be asked to assist with:
- Packaging and labeling finished products
- General cleaning and maintenance around the shop
- Customer service and front-end assistance

Pay
- Starting at $16/hour
- Pay increases are available based on efficiency, reliability, and overall performance.
We’re looking for hard-working individuals who take pride in their work and want to earn more as they progress.
Experience
No prior deer-skinning experience is required — we’ll train you.
However, basic knife skills or prior experience in butchering, food handling, or outdoor work will help you get up to speed faster (and earn more).
Note: Rifle hunters typically aren’t ideal candidates, as our busiest days coincide with the start of rifle season. You must be available on Saturday, November 29th and Sunday, November 30th, when we’ll process 400 deer in just two days.
