Position Overview
Blue Moon Senior Counseling provides mental health counseling to seniors nationwide.
We are opening a new Nevada office and seeking a full-time, in-office team member to
support billing and financial operations. This small support team will work closely with
our Chicago staff and founders to promote the mental health of America’s senior
population. This position will receive training and ongoing collaboration from our
experienced Chicago administrative team while helping establish operations in the new
Vegas office.
Job Summary
We are seeking a positive, detail-oriented Medical Biller / Financial Assistant to join our
mental health administrative team. This full-time role is responsible for insurance claim
submission and follow-up, payer enrollment and credentialing, maintaining accurate
billing reports, and supporting timely reimbursement. The ideal candidate is organized,
accurate, able to manage multiple priorities, and committed to supporting efficient
administrative workflows.
Responsibilities
- Support office workflow by assisting with phone calls, referrals, and related
administrative tasks as needed.
- Review documentation for accuracy and completeness before claim submission.
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies.
- Follow up on unpaid claims and resolve billing discrepancies, issues, and
denials.
- Contact insurance companies regarding payment discrepancies and claim status
updates.
- Review EOBs, remittance advice, and other payer correspondence.
- Communicate with patients regarding outstanding balances and billing questions.
- Assist with payer enrollment and electronic remittance setup.
- Assist with provider onboarding, credentialing, documentation and monthly
payments
Required Experience and Qualifications
- Proficiency in medical terminology, ICD-10 coding, and diagnosis documentation.
- Knowledge of medical billing systems, processes, and payer requirements.
- Familiarity with Medicare, commercial insurance and payer reimbursement
guidelines
- Ability to maintain compliance with internal policies and applicable regulatory
requirements.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records, client charts, and clinical
documentation.
Preferred Skills
- Exceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detail, able to manage
multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Medical billing or financial support experience, preferably in a healthcare or
mental health setting.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
- Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail, with a high level of
accuracy in record-keeping and data entry.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
