Director of Analytics

Blue Marble is seeking a strategic and business-minded Director of Analytics to establish and lead the company's enterprise analytics function. This leader will transform data into actionable business intelligence that drives strategic decision-making across sales, marketing, operations, finance, customer experience, and product development.
The Director of Analytics will develop the company's data strategy, establish reporting standards, build scalable dashboards, identify opportunities through advanced analysis, and partner with executive leadership to improve organizational performance. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, business acumen, leadership, and exceptional communication skills to translate complex data into meaningful insights.

What You’ll Do
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute Blue Marble's enterprise analytics strategy aligned with organizational objectives.
- Partner with executive leadership to identify key business questions and provide actionable insights.
- Build a culture of data-driven decision-making across all departments.
- Establish company-wide analytics standards, governance, and reporting best practices.
- Identify opportunities for operational improvement, revenue growth, and cost optimization through data analysis.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to leadership on performance trends, forecasting, and business intelligence.
Business Intelligence & Reporting
- Design, implement, and maintain executive dashboards and KPI reporting.
- Develop meaningful metrics that measure company performance.
- Standardize reporting across departments to improve consistency and accuracy.
- Create recurring executive reports and ad hoc analyses.
- Ensure reporting is timely, accurate, and actionable.
Data Management
- Oversee data integrity across multiple business systems.
- Develop data governance policies and documentation.
- Partner with IT and business stakeholders to improve data quality.
- Establish processes for maintaining reliable enterprise data.
- Manage data architecture supporting reporting and analytics initiatives.
Advanced Analytics
- Perform trend analysis, forecasting, predictive modeling, and scenario planning.
- Analyze customer behavior, sales performance, operational efficiency, and financial metrics.
- Develop models supporting strategic planning and business growth.
- Identify opportunities through statistical analysis and data mining.
Cross-Functional Partnership
Collaborate with leaders across:

to identify performance drivers and improve business outcomes.
Technology & Systems
- Evaluate and implement business intelligence and analytics platforms.
- Partner on ERP, CRM, HRIS, eCommerce, and marketing system integrations.
- Optimize reporting automation to reduce manual processes.
- Stay current on emerging analytics technologies and AI-enabled reporting capabilities.
Leadership
- Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing analytics team as the function grows.
- Manage external consultants or vendors as needed.
- Foster continuous improvement and innovation within the analytics function.
What You Bring
Must-Haves:
- Experience supporting executive leadership with strategic decision-making.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar BI platforms.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience integrating data across multiple business systems.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Master's degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, MBA, or related field.
- Experience within manufacturing, consumer products, eCommerce, distribution, or education industries.
- Experience with NetSuite, Salesforce, HubSpot, Paycom, or similar enterprise systems.
- Experience with cloud data platforms and data warehousing.
- Knowledge of Python or R for analytics.
- Experience leveraging AI tools for business intelligence and reporting automation.

Education & Experience
We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Statistics, Data Science, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or related field.
- 8 years of progressive experience in analytics, business intelligence, or data strategy.
- 3 years leading analytics teams or enterprise reporting functions.
