We are now hiring for an Operations Manager at our facility in Lacey, Washington. Your Mission: Manager, Warehousing Operations is responsible for providing warehouse support through analysis, operations metrics, warehouse performance, systems and overall operational support. The position works across all distribution centers (DC’s), providing information, creating action plans, assisting with drafting & implementing standard operating procedures and working on various warehouse projects. In addition, responsibilities include working with security, safety and quality assurance to ensure compliance with FDA food safety and OSHA regulations within all distribution centers. Handles confidential and sensitive information. How You’ll Make an Impact: Assist Director of Logistics with the strategy and implementation of new/upgraded warehouses and office operating systems, including technical and manual systems. Lead Team responsible for maintaining and reporting on warehouse activity related systems such as Temperature monitoring of DC freezers and coolers, material handling equipment (MHE) activity & compliance, warehouse management systems (WMS) and any future systems with the goal of gaining efficiencies and consistencies. Develop and execute plans that ensure efficient and accurate inbound and outbound shipments and proper procedures are followed for the overall logistics distribution strategy. Manage external resource support for operations and warehouses, including service level agreements (SLA), deliverables and ensure compliance with said SLA’s. Ensure OSHA and other and other compliance regulations and procedures are followed and documented. Analyze warehousing physical requirements, as well as establish and maintain operational procedures. Determine where technological improvements can be implemented that enhance operations. Assist with headcount/resource needs based on labor costs, customer and budget requirements. Collaborate with DC Directors and participate on cross functional teams responsible for continuous improvement concepts and ongoing development in transportation delivery and customer satisfaction. Direct the development, automation and distribution of monthly aging, budget, and ad hoc reports Work on various warehouse projects as assigned from the leadership team. Who You Are: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Engineering or related degree. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of formal education. Minimum of five (5) years’ experience with progressively complex, multi-facility organizations and experience with automated systems (i.e.: ERP or warehouse management) systems. In-depth knowledge of federal and state OSHA regulations and requirements. Proof of experience in establishing performance metrics, procedures and standard operating procedures (SOP’s). Assist with the planning for training of all warehouse staff and assist DC Directors, where applicable, with training. Previous experience developing and implementing strategies and effective action plans to address and resolve issues. Evidence of being a solutions-oriented, creative and innovative thinker, Previous experience in a position utilizing warehouse computer systems such as an Enterprise Resource Planning System (ERP), automated order processing, networked systems and advanced level skills in Microsoft applications. Previous budget experience with profit and loss (P&L) analysis and planning. Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex or diverse information by collecting and researching data and using intuition and experience to optimize the data. Previous experience analyzing multi-state and regional data. Demonstrated communication effectiveness, with the ability to educate and inform broad audiences, including senior staff with evidence of well-developed influencing skills. Previous experience in managing contractors and vendor relationships, developing contracts and service level agreements. Computer proficiency (highly skilled in Excel) in Microsoft Office, Internet and warehouse databases. Where You’ll work: This position will be in an office environment; however, exposure to warehouses, trucks and distribution centers will occur on a regular basis. This position requires the ability and willingness to work non-traditional business hours (evenings, weekends, etc.) Position requires the ability to travel and adhere to the corporate travel policy.
