Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Food Service Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will support the daily operations of our school nutrition program by assisting with food preparation, serving, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. The ideal candidate is student-focused, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced setting to ensure a positive experience for students and staff.
Duties
- Assist with food preparation and plating according to established standards
- Serve meals to students in a courteous and timely manner
- Maintain cleanliness of cafeteria, kitchen, and food stations
- Restock supplies and ensure proper storage of food items
- Follow safety and sanitation guidelines at all times
- Help with setup and cleanup before and after meal service
- Support cafeteria members in delivering excellent service
- Adhere to all health regulations and organizational policies
Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting and bending
- Ability to lift 50lbs
- Ability to mop large floor area
- Basic knowledge of food safety standards is desirable
- Positive attitude, reliability, and a willingness to learn
Pay: $17.43 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 6.5 per week
