What are the responsibilities and job description for the Aerial Telecom Lineman - Hiring Now position at Blue Jay Communications?
Key Responsibilities (include But Are Not Limited To)
- Perform simple and complex pole transfers (Make Ready)
- Place strand, including guys, bonds, and grounds
- Jig fiber/coax
- Lash and overlash fiber/coax over existing boxes, wires, and lines
- Identify and install correct fiber storage loops
- Perform traffic control and maintain safe work zones
- Reconcile all issued parts and materials on a daily basis to ensure accurate usage
- Document and validate as-builts for new builds and plant modifications
- Complete daily work orders and crew checks to document productivity and safety compliance
- Read and understand schematics and construction prints
- Work assigned shifts, including overtime as needed
- Perform all physical tasks required for the duration of the assigned shift
- Pole climbing experience required (preferred/plus)
- Ability to work in all temperatures, climates, and weather conditions
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- Physical ability to bend, stand, sit, crawl, climb, and lift throughout the workday
- Strong communication skills when interacting with coworkers, homeowners, and customers
- Reliable, responsible, and dependable attendance
- Valid driver's license required; CDL is a plus
- Ability to pass drug screening and background check
