Job Overview
The Guest Service Representative (GSR) is the first point of contact for visitors at Blue Hills Ski Area. This role is vital in providing exceptional customer service to skiers, snowboarders, and other guests, ensuring that they have a seamless, positive experience from arrival to departure. The GSR will assist with ticket sales, provide resort information, handle inquiries, resolve complaints, and support a variety of operational tasks, all while promoting a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable environment for guests.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner upon arrival and throughout their visit.
- Provide accurate information regarding resort services, policies, and amenities (e.g., lift tickets, rentals, ski lessons, weather conditions, events, etc.).
- Assist with ticket and pass sales, process transactions efficiently using the POS system, and ensure accurate records.
- Address guest inquiries and concerns, or equipment issues efficiently and professionally or escalating as necessary
- Assist guests with selecting appropriate ski and snowboard equipment based on their skill level, size, and preferences. Provide clear instructions on the proper use of equipment.
- Assist with general resort operations, including greeting guests, answering phones, and providing guidance on parking and other logistical matters.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized guest service area.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current mountain conditions, events, ski area maps, trail openings, and lift operations.
- Accurately fit skis, snowboards, boots, and poles to customers. Ensure that all equipment is adjusted properly for safety and comfort.
- Inspect, clean, and maintain rental equipment, including skis, snowboards, boots, and helmets.
- Assist with crowd control during busy periods and ensure safe movement around guest service areas.
- Follow all safety guidelines and protocols to ensure the safe use of rental equipment. Monitor equipment for wear and tear, and report any issues to the supervisor.
- Work closely with fellow GSRs and resort staff to ensure smooth operations and excellent customer service during busy periods.
Skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to work effectively with a diverse range of guests and team members.
- Ability to remain calm and composed during high-pressure situations or when dealing with challenging guests.
- Proficient in using point-of-sale (POS) systems, cash handling, and basic office equipment (computers, phones).
- Knowledge of skiing, snowboarding, and mountain operations is beneficial.

Physical Requirements

Schedule
- Flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and peak seasons (winter months).
- Part-time and full-time positions available.
