Position Summary
We are seeking a Senior Director, Data Products & Strategy to lead the development and execution of our enterprise-wide data strategy. This leader will share the vision for data as a product, and overseeing the lifecycle of scalable, analytic-centric data solutions that can fuel innovation, analytic efficiency, speed to market, and drive measurable outcomes.
In this role, you will collaborate with engineering, product, data science, and business stakeholders and be responsible for defining and managing core set of technical and high-value business data products that sits as a foundational capabilities of data platform that are leveraged to [BD1] [BD2] [NB3] technical data products include common Ingress/egress, data quality and other capabilities, as well as technical and execution support for key cross-functional data products, including reference data sets, general and domain specific dataset, and common clinical dataset.
Key Responsibilities
Base salary range: 190k – 250k base

Key Responsibilities
- Drive the overall data strategy vision across BHI in support of BHI products and position BHI for the scale and growth to be able to innovate analytical products and insights in rapid cycles.
- Manage the portfolio of strategic foundational data initiatives across BHI by closely working with BCBSA, BHI Products, Analytics and Engineering teams.
- Define and drive the roadmap for the foundational technical and data products that enable internal customers starting from definition to consumption.
- Champion user-centric design by collaborating across engineering, analytics and products to scalable and usable data products are delivered.
- Own and drive the adoption strategy to drive adoption of the foundational data products using KPI and metrics to demonstrate the value.
- Develop a business case for foundational data products and technical capabilities in support of BHI products, and seek executive input to influence the overall technology roadmap
- Identify and prioritize strategic data opportunities and data partnerships that can enhance the overall value of the BHI data assets that we bring to the market.
- Manage the Tech Debit remediation and modernization efforts by balancing with new data product capabilities development.
- Build and lead high-performing technical data product and strategy members, mentor and coach team members to foster a culture of innovation, accountability, collaboration
- 10 years of experience in data strategy, data product and technical product management, with 5 years of senior leadership experience within that area.
- Proven track record of defining and delivering overall data strategy in support of analytic products and roadmap.
- Proven track record of defining and delivering data products at scale including data product strategy and delivery.
- Strong strategic thinking and communication skills with ability to influence at all levels of the organization across engineering, product, and executive leadership with the ability to translate technical data concepts into business value and strategy.
- Experience in managing large data portfolio and roadmap starting from business case development, delivery management, to value tracking.
- Deep understanding of the modern data architectures including expertise in cloud-based data technologies, AWS, Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, and Kafka and others.
- Strong understanding of data engineering principles, including ETL, data warehousing, and real-time data processing.
- Knowledge of data security, governance, and compliance frameworks, including SOC 2, HIPAA, and HITRUST.
- Ability to drive cross-functional collaboration, influencing stakeholders across engineering, product, and executive leadership.
- Experience with AI, machine learning, and predictive analytics concepts to enhance data product capabilities.
- Experience working in agile product development environments.
- Maintain controls, reporting and transparency necessary to comply with customer and BCBSA confidentiality, HIPAA, PHI and PII standards, as well as SOC2 and HiTrust certifications.
