What are the responsibilities and job description for the Loss Prevention Specialist (Collections Specialist) position at Blue Eagle Credit Union?
Overview of Role:
Responsible for the collection of delinquent, negative, and fraudulent accounts in a professional manner, while protecting the Credit Union's assets and attempting to serve the members' best interest, whenever possible.
- Reviews collections and charge-off reports to verify status of collections and balances outstanding
- Evaluates, recommends and implements the disposition of delinquent, negative and fraudulent accounts
- Analyzes members' financial status, credit and assets evaluation to determine collection strategies and then recommends and implements them.
- Responsible for management and placement of collateral for repossession. Prepares the documentation to clear collateral for sale, prepare collateral for requisitioning of expense checks, paying and documenting expenses.
- Completes associated administrative duties such as processing payments, handling GAP and warranty and debt protection claims, liquidating collateral and applying proceeds and collecting deficiency balances, preparing documentation and performing skip-tracing duties as required.
- Provides next level service when responding to the needs of members (current, potential and internal) and always representing the Credit Union in a courteous, professional and positive manner.
