The Staff Cost Accountant performs a wide range of tasks to ensure an accurate and efficient cost allocation process and performs cost studies and analysis that is accurate, timely and complies with all applicable regulatory guidelines. This position ensures the accuracy of the BCBSMS financial statements including reconciling and verifying FEP activity, and ensures allocation methods are current, accurate, documented, implemented and proficiently executed to meet regulatory guidelines.

Job-Specific Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting (150 hour requirement is met as to be eligible to sit for the Certified Public Accountant exam), with a minimum GPA of 3.25.
- Must be able to work within and meet deadlines.
- Must have strong oral and written communication skills.
- Must have strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Insurance accounting background or working SAP (Statutory Accounting Principles) knowledge preferred.
- Cost Accounting experience preferred.
