What we need
The Senior Product Manager will use data-driven analysis to lead the development and management of commercial products. This role is responsible for the full product lifecycle, from identifying market opportunities and building innovative offerings to launching products and managing them long-term. The role will work closely with teams across BCBSMA to deliver products tailored to the unique needs of specific market segments that meet customer and consumer needs and drive targeted business growth.
This position is eligible for the Flex persona. This is a hybrid position, based out of our Hingham or Boston office. Associates who live within 50 miles of the office are expected to work in-person 2 days a week.
Your Day to Day
Conduct ongoing market surveillance of competitor actions and industry trends to identify strategic opportunities and determine the optimal timing for launching new solutions
Define and communicate a clear product vision and roadmap based on customer feedback, market research, and industry insights
Create and manage rigorous, data-driven business cases for new product opportunities, including segment and product specific ROI projections and feasibility analysis
Develop and lead the go-to-market (GTM) strategy for new product launches, including defining the value proposition, creating sales enablement tools, and partnering with Marketing to drive broker and employer engagement
Drive product affordability initiatives by identifying key drivers of medical cost trend, analyzing financial impacts of benefit changes, and developing product strategies to contribute to lowering the total cost of care
Lead the end-to-end product development lifecycle, from initial scoping and requirements definition to coordinating testing and final deployment
Direct the ongoing strategy and management of core commercial medical products adapting approaches for different market segments and partnering closely with regional blues partners and the BCBS Association where applicable to ensure market success
Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and other key stakeholders to gather ongoing feedback to ensure product success
Establish, track, and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of market offerings against corporate goals
Develop and present compelling narratives to senior leadership regarding product strategy, performance, and growth opportunities
Ensure operational readiness for all product initiatives by partnering with Operations, IT, and other business areas to ensure that products can be administered accurately and efficiently
We're Looking for:
Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to assess program performance and make data-driven recommendations for improvement
Strong financial acumen, with experience in business case development within a healthcare or insurance environment
Ability to translate complex healthcare industry challenges into clear, actionable product opportunities
Excellent project management, organizational, and facilitation skills, with a proven ability to lead collaborative discussions and drive projects to completion
Strong communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation) with the ability to articulate a compelling product vision and its value proposition to both internal stakeholders and external channels (sales, brokers, employers)
Demonstrated ability to navigate complex organizational dynamics and achieve goals through creative problem-solving. Comfortable with ambiguity and capable of working independently
High standards of professionalism, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering excellent results
Experience working within a complex ecosystem; understanding of core health insurance operations (e.g., claims, enrollment, benefits administration) is a significant plus
What You Bring:
Bachelor's degree required; MBA or other Master's degree is a plus
5 years of relevant experience in product management
Experience in the healthcare industry is strongly preferred

We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs and affordability.
This job is also eligible for variable pay.
