We are seeking a skilled Sewing Technician to sew and finish high-quality marine textile components, including boat upholstery, covers, and enclosures. This role focuses on industrial sewing using heavy-duty marine materials and requires strong attention to detail, accuracy, and craftsmanship.
What You’ll Do
- Operate industrial sewing machines, including Juki Single Needle and ABM Quilter 5432, to stitch materials used in marine applications
- Follow patterns, blueprints, and specifications to ensure precise sewing and construction
- Conduct quality checks to ensure finished products meet durability and craftsmanship standards
- Adjust machine settings as needed to accommodate different materials and designs
- Perform basic machine upkeep, including threading and replacing needles
- Work closely with team members and the Sewing Manager to meet daily production goals
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience as a sewing machine operator, seamstress, upholstery sewer, or textile worker preferred
- Experience operating industrial sewing machines, including Juki, walking foot, quilting machines, or similar equipment preferred
- Familiarity with upholstery materials such as vinyl, marine fabrics, or other heavy-duty textiles is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for precise stitching
- Reliable, positive, and able to work efficiently as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit and operate a sewing machine for extended periods
- Ability to lift and move materials as needed, up to 25 pounds
- Good vision and attention to fine details
