Position Summary:
The Armed Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for students, staff, and visitors at a K-11 public charter school. This role serves as a highly visible deterrent to potential threats and ensures the campus remains protected through proactive patrols and monitoring.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as a visible security presence on campus to deter criminal activity and ensure a safe learning environment.
Conduct routine patrols throughout the school grounds, including interior and exterior areas.
Perform daily rounds to check all perimeter doors, gates, and access points to ensure they are secure and functioning properly.
Monitor and control access to the campus, verifying identification and managing visitor entry as needed.
Respond promptly and appropriately to incidents, emergencies, or suspicious activity.
Collaborate with school administration and local law enforcement when necessary.
Complete detailed daily activity reports and incident reports.
Enforce school policies and safety procedures in a professional and respectful manner.
Qualifications:
Valid armed security license in accordance with state regulations.
