What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facilities Maintenance Equipment Technician position at Blue Bell Creameries?
Blue Bell Creameries has three plants of which manufacture ice cream. We currently have opportunities for a Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our Equipment Section at the Brenham, TX location. The candidates should have great attention to detail, work in a team setting, and enjoy the challenges that a dynamic food manufacturing facility has to offer.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Perform preventative maintenance on engine room equipment, as well as troubleshooting, repairing of equipment and machinery while adhering to all safety rules and regulations. Also, be responsible for performing a combination of tasks including repairing and maintaining compressors, pumps, heat exchangers, blowers, production machines and other mechanical equipment. Be able to work a 45-hour work week. Be willing to work some Saturdays and Holidays. Some work in the cold storage areas will also be required.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Technician Functions
- Perform scheduled and preventative maintenance of equipment, machinery, valves, piping systems and structures.
- Maintain documentation and catalogue data for various systems while adhering to safety guidelines.
- Troubleshoot machine operation and perform equipment maintenance.
REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5 years' maintenance experience and/or training
- Excellent troubleshooting skills, mechanical aptitude required and basic math skills preferred.
- Some basic plumbing / lubrication / electrical / mechanical / preventive maintenance experience is a plus.
- Experience working on Ammonia Compressors is also a plus.
