Full Time Direct Support Professional

Position Summary

Blue Angels Care, LLC is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and professional Full-Time Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide Companionship and In-Home and Community Supports (IHCS) to individuals with intellectual disabilities and/or autism.

The DSP supports individuals in maintaining independence, developing life skills, participating in meaningful activities, and achieving their personal goals. Services are provided in accordance with each individual's Individual Support Plan (ISP), assessed needs, preferences, and authorized services.

The DSP promotes dignity, respect, personal choice, community inclusion, and the health, safety, and well-being of each individual.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Companionship Services

• Provide meaningful companionship and opportunities for social interaction.
• Support individuals in participating in preferred recreational, leisure, and community activities.
• Encourage relationships, social connections, and community participation.
• Respect each individual's interests, preferences, and choices.
• Provide appropriate supervision and support consistent with the individual's assessed needs and ISP.
• Promote independence and opportunities for individuals to make their own decisions.

2. In-Home and Community Supports (IHCS)

• Assist individuals with developing and maintaining daily living skills.
• Support household activities, including meal preparation, laundry, and maintaining a safe and organized living environment, as authorized in the ISP.
• Encourage personal responsibility, independence, and self-direction.
• Assist individuals with shopping, errands, appointments, and community activities as authorized.
• Support individuals in accessing community resources and opportunities.
• Provide assistance with budgeting, money management, and purchasing decisions when included in the individual's support plan.
• Support individuals in developing skills that promote health, safety, and well-being.
• Follow all applicable ISP instructions, health and safety procedures, and approved risk mitigation strategies
• Minimum Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally.
• Ability to demonstrate patience, compassion, dependability, and sound judgment.
• Ability to follow written instructions, individual support plans, and established procedures.
• Ability to complete electronic documentation and use required scheduling and timekeeping applications.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining communication with BAC management.
• Ability to meet applicable background clearance, training, and employment requirements.
• Valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and reliable transportation when driving is required for the assigned position.
• Previous experience in direct support, caregiving, human services, or a related field preferred but not required.
• Required Clearances and Training

Employment is contingent upon completion and approval of applicable pre-employment requirements, including:

• Required Pennsylvania criminal background clearances and applicable child abuse clearances, when required.

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35.0 – 40.0 per week
