About the role
BluB0X Security builds cloud-based access control and video systems for major commercial buildings. Everything we ship is bought, stocked, kitted and sent from our own facility.
We're hiring a Purchasing & Inventory Supervisor to own that end to end. Purchasing, order processing, inventory accuracy, receiving, and shipping both domestic and international. Unleashed is our system of record and you will own it.
This is a single-owner function. There is no purchasing department behind you and no one chasing your open items. You will run the desk, surface problems before they become other people's problems, and be the person who actually knows where everything is.
What you'll do
- Turn approved requisitions into purchase orders in Unleashed within two business days
- Source and quote from distribution and component suppliers; compare landed cost, lead time and availability before committing
- Own supplier records, price lists, lead times and terms in Unleashed
- Chase acknowledgements and committed ship dates, and publish a weekly open-PO aging report
- Enter and manage sales orders, allocate stock, and handle backorders and partial shipments
- Own bin locations, min/max levels and reorder points
- Run a rolling cycle count program and the annual physical inventory
- Receive against the PO, capture serial numbers, and put away
- Kit and stage material for build and project staging
- Ship domestic freight and small parcel, and prepare full international export documentation: commercial invoices, packing lists, HTS classification, country of origin, Incoterms
- Work with forwarders and brokers, and resolve customs holds
- Keep Unleashed clean. No negative stock, no stale orders, no undocumented adjustments
What you need
- Hands-on Unleashed experience. This is not negotiable and it will be tested in the interview. Purchase orders, sales orders, receipting, stock adjustments and counts, bin locations, assemblies and bills of material, reporting
- 3 years in purchasing, order processing or inventory control in a product, distribution or light manufacturing environment
- Practical international shipping experience: export documentation, carriers, forwarders, brokers
- Confident in Excel: filters, pivot tables, lookups. You can build and maintain a clean tracker without help
- A demonstrated record of owning an open-items list and closing it without being chased. This is the single most important thing on this list
- Clear, prompt written communication with suppliers, carriers and internal teams
- Able to lift 50 lbs, operate a pallet jack, and work on the warehouse floor
Nice to have
- Background in low voltage, security, electrical or electronics distribution
- Unleashed integrated with Xero or QuickBooks
- Customs classification experience
- You've been the only person running purchasing or inventory somewhere under 100 people
How we'll measure it
We'd rather be clear up front than surprise you at review time. In this role, good looks like: requisition to PO in under two business days, no PO aged past 30 days without a documented reason, on-time shipment at 95% or better, and inventory accuracy at 98% or better.
