Job Overview: Tissue Processing Assistant
As a Tissue Processing Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Tissue Processing Technician, contributing to the meticulous processing of donor tissue while upholding the highest standards of precision and care. Working in a controlled cleanroom environment, you will assist in maintaining an aseptic atmosphere and ensuring the quality of our final products.
Responsibilities:

Collaborative Tissue Processing:
- Assist in the processing of donor tissue, adhering rigorously to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Collaborate with the Tissue Processing Technician to maintain meticulous documentation throughout the processing workflow.
- Aseptic Principles:
- Execute tasks with a strong commitment to aseptic principles, supporting a contamination-free environment.
- Work closely with the Tissue Processing Technician to uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and sterility.
- Environment Preparation:
- Support the Tissue Processing Technician in handling donor intake and preparing the processing environment with skill and attention to detail.
- Lab Environment Support:
- Assist in the operation, cleaning, and maintenance of the laboratory environment, following daily, weekly, and monthly schedules.
- Collaborate with the Tissue Processing Technician to ensure optimal lab efficiency.
- Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate with the Tissue Processing Technician and other team members to optimize resource management and time efficiency.
- Contribute ideas and feedback to enhance product quality and streamline processing procedures.
- Quality Assurance Support:
- Work alongside the Tissue Processing Technician to receive and assess materials and products, ensuring they meet stringent quality standards.
- Compliance and Integrity:
- Maintain unwavering compliance with quality policies, laws, and regulations under the guidance of the Tissue Processing Technician.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, or a related field is preferred. Alternatively, candidates with two or more years of laboratory experience, an associate degree, or relevant medical certification will be considered.
- Prior laboratory experience is beneficial, with a preference for candidates familiar with tissue banking.
- Fundamental proficiency in aseptic techniques and basic laboratory skills/techniques is required.
- Strong communication skills, a quick learner, and a positive attitude are essential qualities.
- Possession of AATB and MLT certifications is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Licensing requirements are not applicable for this role.
- Ability to stand for at least 75% of the shift is a mandatory requirement.
