Machine Operator Job Description
Job Summary
The Machine Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining production equipment. This role ensures efficient production, quality output, and adherence to safety and operational standard. The Machine Operator will perform troubleshooting and equipment maintenance to support continuous operations. The Machine Operator will also assist with warehouse operations as needed. On the job training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate manufacturing equipment such as single and two stage PET, HDPE injection, and PET injection molding machines
- Operate support equipment such as baggers, wrappers, conveyors, and forklifts
- Perform preventive maintenance activities and equipment changeovers
- Follow all safety guidelines, policies, and procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Monitor production processes to ensure product quality and consistency
- Perform routine inspections and quality checks on products during production and packaging
- Make machine adjustments as needed to meet product specifications
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve equipment or process issues; escalate when necessary
- Track and report production data, including output, defects, and efficiency metrics
- Ensure proper labeling, packaging, and handling of finished goods
- Monitor inventory levels of materials and replenish as needed
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to support production goals
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
· Education:
High school diploma or GED preferred
· Experience:
- Previous manufacturing or machine operation experience
- Basic mechanical aptitude
· Skills:
- Basic math and problem-solving skills
- Ability to follow instructions and standard operating procedures
- Basic computer skills
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new machines and processes
- Collaborate with team and work well with others even under stress
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Frequent use of hands for handling, operating, and adjusting equipment
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
- Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, or climbing
Work Environment
- Manufacturing/production environment with moving machinery
- Exposure to varying temperatures and moderate to high noise levels
- Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Pay: From $21.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
