- JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Controller, the Assistant Controller is integral to ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records. The position requires a thought leader to ensure that GAAP and GASB guidance, including new guidance, is appropriately applied to the financial statements. A self-starter who is eager to learn and grow would be well-suited for this position.
The Assistant Controller is responsible for performing many of the day-to-day activities of the Accounting Department. This includes but is not limited to the following: Directing month-end closing activities, including timely and accurate financial statements; Maintains the General Ledger and Chart of Accounts; Supervises members of the accounting staff; Performs monthly review of Accounts Receivable and calculates appropriate reserve amounts; Responsible for audits of the accounting department; Leads the operating and capital budget process annually; Responsible for Medicare Cost Report submission as well as any other required Medicare or other payor reporting requirements; Performs special projects as directed by the CFO and Controller. This position will also be responsible for identifying actual to budget variances and investigate any variances for errors or to determine the cause. In addition, this position will be responsible for all cash management duties including administration of bank website access, cash reporting, cash forecasting, and electronic payments & transfers. - JOB SPECIFICATIONSEducation and/or experience: Requires a B.S. degree with a major in accounting. Requires 4-6 years of professional accounting experience; Hospital/healthcare experience is highly desirable. Previous management experience is preferred.Knowledge: Requires knowledge of routine accounting functions to produce financial statements; Knowledge of general healthcare practices, accounting, and operations is strongly preferred.Skills: Self-motivated; Detail-oriented; Strong analytical/problem solving skills; Superior technology skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, are required.Abilities: Demonstrated high levels of initiative, innovation, and collaboration; Positive attitude.

Salary : $69,700 - $88,200
