Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated QSP/PCA (Qualified Support Person / Personal Care Assistant) to join our vibrant caregiving team. Duties
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance using tools like Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration to ensure residents' health status is maintained
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed schedules and document all medication activities within electronic medical record (EMR) systems
- Support residents with meal preparation, feeding, and ensuring proper nutrition while respecting individual dietary needs
- Engage residents in social activities and provide companionship to promote mental well-being and reduce feelings of isolation
- Implement behavior management strategies for residents with dementia or behavioral challenges, ensuring safety and dignity at all times
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing routine cleaning tasks, adhering to infection control protocols, and assisting with laundry as needed
Skills
- Proven experience in nursing home, assisted living, or home & community care settings with a focus on senior care or individuals with disabilities
- Knowledge of Alzheimer's disease, dementia care, memory care techniques, and behavioral management strategies
- Ability to perform vital signs measurement accurately and recognize signs of health deterioration
- Familiarity with medication administration procedures and EMR systems for documentation
- Strong caregiving skills with experience assisting with ADLs such as personal hygiene, mobility support, and meal prep
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with residents, families, and team members
- Valid driver’s license for transportation duties if required; experience in group home or personal care home environments is advantageous
