Duties
- Process payroll accurately and efficiently using payroll management software such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, or UltiPro, ensuring timely payments and deductions.
- Manage benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, and compliance with applicable regulations.
- Maintain detailed records of payroll transactions, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger postings using accounting software like QuickBooks or other financial systems.
- Oversee HRIS systems to update employee data, track attendance, and manage leave records.
- Perform data entry tasks related to payroll and human resources with precision, ensuring data integrity across all platforms.
- Reconcile accounts payable and receivable related to payroll expenses and benefits payments.
- Assist with governmental reporting requirements, tax filings, and compliance audits related to payroll and HR functions.
Requirements
- Proven experience with payroll management systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex or Kronos is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles including double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, debits & credits, and general ledger reconciliation.
- Familiarity with financial concepts related to corporate accounting, governmental accounting, non-profit accounting, and tax regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software like QuickBooks or similar platforms; experience with financial software is a plus.
- Excellent analysis skills for reviewing payroll data, benefits administration reports, and account reconciliations.
- Ability to perform high-volume data entry accurately using 10 key typing skills.
- Knowledge of human resources processes including benefits administration and HRIS systems such as Ceridian or PeopleSoft is desirable.
- Strong organizational skills combined with attention to detail in handling accounts payable/receivable and account reconciliation tasks.
