Duties
- Manage daily service department operations, including scheduling, workflow coordination, and resource allocation to maximize efficiency and productivity.
- Lead and motivate a team of service technicians, fostering a positive work environment that encourages professional growth and teamwork. Hands on in the field training with technicians to teach best practices, craftmanship, and safety.
- Handle customer interactions professionally—addressing inquiries, providing estimates via site visits and quotes, explaining procedures clearly, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Promote upselling of additional services and maintenance packages to enhance customer value while increasing branch revenue.
- Manage service parts and appliance inventory efficiently—documenting accurately and maintaining clear records.
- Coordinate with purchasing to ensure timely availability of parts needed for jobs.
- Maintain compliance with safety standards and industry regulations across all operations.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as turnaround times, customer satisfaction scores, and sales targets to continuously improve department performance.
Skills
- Proven experience propane branch operations and in service management with a strong background in propane service operations.
- Extensive knowledge of propane piping, installation and service.
- Hands-on experience as a service technician is highly desirable to understand technical challenges firsthand.
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
- Strong sales acumen with experience in upselling services in the propane industry.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with expertise in propane systems repair and procedures to ensures quality oversight.
- Leadership skills that motivate teams toward achieving departmental goals while fostering a positive work environment.
