About us
The Powersports Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, servicing, and upgrading a wide variety of powersports units. This position requires strong mechanical ability, attention to detail, efficiency, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnostics & Repairs
Perform accurate diagnostics on ATVs, UTVs, motorcycles, and dirt bikes.
Complete repairs including engine work, electrical troubleshooting, suspension, driveline, cooling systems, and fuel systems.
Use OEM diagnostic tools, software, and service manuals to ensure correct repairs.
Perform safety inspections and final quality checks.
Routine Maintenance
Conduct oil changes, brake services, tire changes & balancing, chain/sprocket replacement, fluid flushes, and tune-ups.
Perform factory-recommended service intervals and pre-delivery inspections (PDI).
Prep new units for sale, including assembly and test rides.
Customer & Service Team Support
Communicate clearly with service advisor regarding diagnostics, parts needs, and repair timelines.
Document all work performed on repair orders with detail and accuracy.
Provide feedback on unit conditions and recommended services..
Technical Expertise
Stay updated on new models, service bulletins, recalls, and technical training.
Follow manufacturer procedures, torque specs, and safety standards.
Use professional tools and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
Efficiency & Work Quality
Complete jobs in an efficient manner while maintaining high-quality standards.
Manage multiple work orders at once with proper time management.
Verify that all repairs meet dealership and manufacturer standards before delivery.
Qualifications
Required
Mechanical experience in powersports, automotive, small engines, marine, and/or diesel.
Strong understanding of 2-stroke and 4-stroke engines.
Ability to use hand tools, diagnostic tools, and electronic service manuals.
Valid driver’s license (motorcycle endorsement is a plus).
Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
Preferred
Prior dealership technician experience.
Factory certifications (Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Polaris, Can-Am, Suzuki, KTM, etc.).
Experience with EFI diagnostics and scan tools.
Welding or fabrication skills.
Current Inspection License for Motorcycles
