Bloomington Country Club is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and service-driven professional to join our team as an Assistant Event Manager. As the Assistant Event Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the planning, coordination,
and execution of a wide variety of public, private and member events. You will report to the Event
Manager and work with club leadership to ensure every event reflects the high standards and
reputation of the Bloomington Country Club.
Key Responsibilities
Event Planning & Execution
- Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of club events, including weddings, banquets, member functions, and special events.
- Support events from initial concept through completion, ensuring all details are accurately executed.
- Take a hands-on role in event setup, on-site management, and post-event breakdown and cleanup.
- Monitor event timelines and logistics to ensure seamless flow and an exceptional guest experience.
- Act as a point of contact during events to address member needs and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
Flexible Schedule & Availability
- Maintain flexible availability, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, as events
often occur outside of traditional business hours.
- Demonstrate reliability and adaptability to accommodate changing event schedules and
operational needs.
- Understand that flexibility is a critical component of this role and essential to delivering
successful events.
Member & Client Communication
1. Assist with event-related correspondence, confirmations, and follow-ups.
2. Build and maintain positive relationships with members by providing attentive
Professional Development & Growth
1. Learn and develop a strong understanding of the Assistant Event Manager role and overall event operations.
2. Gain hands-on experience in hospitality and event management within a private club setting.
3. Continuously strive to enhance service quality and operational efficiency.
4. Contribute to the overall success, professionalism, and reputation of Bloomington Country Club.
Qualifications
1. Previous experience in event planning, hospitality, food and beverage, or customer service is preferred but not required.
2. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
3. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
4. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor.
5. Ability to lift 50 lbs in tables, chairs and other event equipment
6. Willingness to learn, take initiative, and grow within the role.
7. Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, is required.
