Position Summary
The Retail Store Sales Associate serves as a brand ambassador for the hockey team by delivering exceptional customer service and creating memorable fan experiences. This position is responsible for assisting customers with merchandise purchases, maintaining store presentation standards, processing transactions, and supporting game day and special event retail operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and engage fans, guests, and customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Assist customers in selecting team merchandise, apparel, souvenirs, and other retail products.
- Provide knowledgeable information regarding product features, sizing, pricing, and promotions.
- Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems accurately and efficiently while handling cash, credit card, and mobile payments.
- Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and visual merchandising standards.
- Restock merchandise and monitor inventory levels.
- Assist with receiving, unpacking, and organizing shipments.
- Promote season-specific merchandise, special offers, and new product launches.
- Support retail operations during hockey games, tournaments, community events, and special promotions.
- Resolve customer questions and concerns professionally and escalate issues when necessary.
- Help achieve individual and team sales goals.
- Adhere to company policies, cash handling procedures, and loss prevention practices.
Required Availability
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and all home game days.
- Availability for special events, playoff games, tournaments, community appearances, and promotional events is required as scheduled.
- Must be able to work shifts that may begin before store opening and extend after store closing to support event operations, inventory, and merchandising activities.
- Part-time associates are expected to maintain a minimum availability of 15-20 hours per week, including at least two weekend shifts and the majority of home game dates.
- Blackout dates during the hockey season may be limited due to business demands, particularly during opening weekend, holiday periods, rivalry games, playoffs, and other high-attendance events.
- Reliable transportation is required to ensure timely arrival for scheduled shifts.
Required Availability Statement:
Applicants must have a strong commitment to working hockey game days and major team events. Due to the nature of the sports and entertainment industry, game-day availability is considered an essential function of this position.
Qualifications
