Program Overview
Bloomingdale’s MBA Internship in Strategy is a semester-long paid program designed for MBA students interested in gaining hands-on experience in strategy, growth initiatives, and business transformation within a leading luxury omnichannel retailer.
Interns will work directly with Bloomingdale’s Strategy team, partnering cross-functionally with senior leaders across Merchandising, Planning, Marketing, Digital, Stores, and Finance to evaluate business opportunities, develop data-driven recommendations, and support initiatives that directly impact sales, profitability, and long-term brand growth.

Essential Functions
- Support initiatives aligned to Bloomingdale’s short- and long-term business priorities
- Conduct market, customer, and competitive analyses to identify growth opportunities and risks
- Build financial and business models to evaluate strategic scenarios and investment decisions
- Synthesize data into clear, executive-ready insights and recommendations
- Collaborate cross-functionally with teams including Merchandising, Planning, Digital, Marketing, Stores, and Finance
- Prepare materials and presentations for Strategy leadership and senior executives
- Gain hands-on exposure to how strategy is developed and executed in an omnichannel luxury retail organization
- Develop strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills through real business challenges
- Work closely with leadership and key stakeholders on high-impact initiatives
- Build a deep understanding of Bloomingdale’s business model, customer, and competitive landscape
- This program includes the potential to turn into a full-time job offer
- Currently enrolled in a full-time MBA program with a strong academic record
- Ability to dedicate 10 hours per week
- Demonstrated interest in retail and strategy, consulting, corporate development, or general management
- Prior experience in retail (a plus)
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
- Experience with market analysis or strategic frameworks (academic or professional)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Organized, self-motivated, and comfortable managing multiple workstreams
- Ability to succeed in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
- Prolonged periods of sitting, with occasional standing and walking
- Ability to bend, reach, hear, and communicate as needed
- Continuous use of computers and standard office equipment
- Ability to lift and move up to 25 lbs. as required

Salary : $23 - $40
