Role Description The Firefighter/Paramedic role is a full-time, on-site position located in Bloomingdale, IL. Day-to-day responsibilities include responding to fire alarms and emergency medical calls, providing advanced life support care, and performing firefighting duties such as search and rescue, ventilation, and fire suppression. The role involves operating and maintaining fire apparatus and medical equipment, conducting safety inspections, and participating in training drills to maintain readiness and certifications. Firefighter/Paramedics also assist with public education programs, perform station and equipment maintenance, and complete accurate documentation of incidents and patient care. The position requires working as part of a team under potentially stressful and hazardous conditions while following department policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- 21 to 35 years of age at time of hire unless otherwise specified by law
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Driver's License
- BOF and Paramedic Certification at time of hire
- Valid CPAT and Ladder Climb Certification (Within 1 year prior to the written exam date)
